EVERYDAY RUN

posted on: Monday, January 27, 2014

I feel like I have spent an eternity in jeans lately so I wanted to mix it up a little and put my legs on display.  So I just went for a easy combo, mixing up navy and black and going for neon accents, stating the urban cool running around finish daily errands.

There are so many 90's references to my outfit that if it was a song it would probably be something from Nirvana. Day spent in boxy jackets and sleekjeans over for a mandatory Sunday coffee ritual at the fav cafe.Heaven.

CHANEL COUTURE

So....I frankly thought it was ingenious! Every couture presentation, Chanel drops something that creates something like fashion/media turmoil (do you remember those rings last time around?- that is the first thing I will buy when I land in Paris), and now sneakers- sent down couture runway.
Pure ingenious. Now, we all might argue weather the sneaker itself is a garment that fits into the traditional picture of what couture should be, but in terms of bringing couture to the younger audience,  both as inspiration and something to crave for next season, it was ingenious.
And you know you want this cuteness on your feet, I mean sneakers that involve glitter and rainbow colors are never, ever a bad thing.
And that is what I  love about Chanel Couture, the fact that they are thinking about what a modern girl wants to wear nowadays. The collection feels fresh and forward thinking, and to be frank, few brands apart (Margiela for example), couture has become a synonym with pretty, embelished, cakey dresses worn on the special occasions. The artisanship is unquestionable but we have all seen it before.Billions of times.
Skrew that. I am bored.

PREFALL

Speaking of Copenhagen, I have to congratulate by Malene Birger on their first PreFall collection!
I haven't stopped thinking about these burgundy and pink heels since I left their showroom, and with the heel of 9 cm they are perfect for walking or dancing.

There you have me, posing infront of a complete strangers house in Copenhagen earlier in December. Yearning for those temps when a woolen skirt and a pair of pumps didn't involve frostbite, but hey a girl can't have everything. On the other hand a girl is completely allowed to do slouchy layering, especially when anything  Céline involved, and do notice how well I matched my burgundy sweater with that blue door of House number 46.

Anyway can't wait to pop for a CFW two day trip  and enjoy beautiful Cph once again.

Sweater from Stylein that you can find here if you live in Norway, Céline skirt, Proenza Schouler heels (ok now on 50% off-in-sanity) or here, and Little Liffner clutch.

No sun overhere - for almost two months...Maybe that is why I am completely obsessing about these sunny, spicy shades from YSL soon hitting the stores. On another matter the culottes from ACNE PF would be perfect match to open to sandals( what about some cool mules??) painted in the above-mentioned shades and a simple white T. Mhhhhh, summerdreaming.

WORKWEAR

Soon Monday huh? A question that often pops up during interviews is what I usually wear to work.

So I thought it would be cool to show you the everyday attire. Now, I would wear heels more often if I actually worked in the city, but my workplace is slightly further of- so needles to say flats can take you long way.
Anyway, I have been into more masculine layering lately (hello there Haider Ackerman!) and this sweater is just perfect for just that. I have been obsessing with it since I 've seen it in Styleby couple of months ago and almost jumped when I discovered it at the danish Me&Met store. Had to have it.
New fav piece. Basta.

BORROWING FROM THE LADS

With the menswear in full swing, and for a girl that is completely into cross-dressing- that means a good dash of inspiration- and  a little peek into what we might expect on the womenwear front. So with all that influences coming in, I partly consciously( or unconsciously if you rather have it), have been tapping into my loves wardrobe. Oxfordstripes, sweatshirts, jeans and preppy shirts have been dominating my everyday wardrobe lately. So layer all the above, join with a pair of good heels with tassels and whoop there you have a good Friday-borrowing form the boys-outfit.

Loving this styling in the latest issue of STYLEBY. I can feel in my bones that I am in dire need of those Isabel Marant leather Birks. And who knows ,maybe I really do end up with a messy bob next time I am visiting the hairdresser's.

UNIFORM

A lot of simple things for my part lately, soft sweaters and skinny jeans. Not so strange actually, with winter finally reaching northern shores. Still spiking it up with colorful beanies or cool sunnies, like these leopard Céline.

I will admit that I have had a certain aviator jacket on my mind (read this: obsessing about it like crazy)but my nearly dried wallet was the one that made me so indecisive. On the other hand Burberry Prorsum showpiece is worth bleeding for.
And than  here it is and I will also admit that I don't regret buying it for a second - especially when a colder wave hit Bergen. SO, happy about it. I like to think that it is an investment that will stay in my wardrobe for many years to come. For now I am all bundled and wrapped up and definitely not freezing.

I am wearing Burberry prorsum shearling aviator, Isabel Marant sweater, Saint Laurent jeans and Gianvito Rossi boots.

ALL WHITE

posted on: Sunday, January 12, 2014

Ok, that trip to Copenhagen during New Years weekend wasn't at all abad idea, I still can't believe that I snapped this Céline skirt at 40% off. Insanity.
The other reason is that I actually got the chance to sport it, as Bergen isn't always the arena for wearing all white. Or at least if you are nearly as clumsy as I am.
Anyway, I have been dying to show it to you, as I have been wearing a lot of jeans and sweaters lately, so a skirt was a nice refreshment, and a good way of ending the week.

The cold is finally kicking in ( I say finally because we have had nothing but rain for the past 2 months) and I am wrapping up in fun colors and soft wool. For some reason pairing pink and leopard (doesn't sound tacky at all, right?)seemed like a perfectly reasonable combination and with that I am kicking the weekend in. Big fun weekend ahead ;)

Wearing one of my favourite pieces that I snapped on incredible 50% off -sale...I have been obsessing over the Proenza Schouler jacket for months now I guess it was meant to be, because it seems I got the last one available. Very happy about that.
Another thing I love is that you can dress it up and down as you will, with sneakers or with pencil skirt.
I went for one of my fav knits this season by Stine Goya- amazing color right? (that I got here) and skinny jeans for strolling around CPH and catching up with friends some weeks ago.
So, so happy with it.

I am wearing Proenza Schouler jacket, Stine Goya sweater (I got it in Vrimmel in Bergen), skinny jeans by Saint Laurent, Gianvito Rossi boots, LIttle Liffner purse and FWSS beanie.

I have been wanting to update my beauty shelf for a time now and by recommendation decide to try the norwegian brand Elixir Cosmeceuticals. Now, I know the name sounds slightly nerdy, but actually that's what their motto is - no hocus-pocus, just science.  And I have heard from people that have tried them that the girls behind the brand don't promise what they can't keep.
As you probably are I was so sceptical at first, I mean it really did sound to good to actually work that way.
But some months ago I decided to give it a shot as I have been breaking out like crazy and nothing would seem to calm it down(hello hormones??). Now I was warned that my breakout will become worse before it gets better (and they really weren't exaggerating ), as the products were supposed to clean your skin from the inside.

I will admit that the first months were a struggle, my skin breaking out like I was 13 again,
but now (aprox 4 months after I started the treatment), everything is almost gone and I will admit that my tired,  stressed skin is glowing and is baby soft.
I still have a couple of zits here and there, but I feel they will also disappear very, very soon. That being said I wasn't only using acne-realted products, the AlphaBeta cleanser was supposed to clean and tighten the pores and remove dead cells (hello younger skin!) and Niactil cream reduces redness and fine lines.
I can actually vouch that those products deliver everything they promise, as long one can hold out the initial break out (and it can last for up to 2 months), but I can promise you it is completely worth it.
I will post no make up photo as soon as those last red dots have disappeared. ;)

For extra polishing I like to use  Le Weekend de Chanel just below the eye area and on my forehead and when the skin needs a little extra glow I use the Apricot scrub by Yves Rocher.

Cleanser: AlphaBeta Cleanser by Elixir
Tone: Acne pads by Elixir
Cream: Niactil 4% and Acticlear ( you can use different cream together :))
Polish: Le Weekend de Chanel

Btw the Elixir products can be also found here , but for those who don't live in Norway I really hope that they will expand soon.

COZY SLEEVES

posted on: Sunday, January 5, 2014

Some days ago, running some errands  but still trying to keep a healthy dose of comfy cool. I love those sleeves (who needs gloves??) and in the true Céline manner rest of the garment is hold pretty low-key. On the other matter as a true child of the 90s grunge, acid jeans never go out of fashion, and these grey ones are amongst my favourites. A highly unorthodox choice mixing Celine with elements of grunge, but with a softer pallet in mind I think these two went perfectly together.

Céline sweater and heels, Designers Remix jeans (here  and here) and my LIttle furry Liffner which I am inseparable with :)

COUCHING

Still going for post Holiday plenty- of- space for all the comfort food, but I have really been into tomboy chic lately. So, Ch wasn't that surprised when I stole his newly obtained Acne sweatshirt and never put it back in his wardrobe, and blue and Breton stripes have been a must pop-out detail in every outfit I have been wearing lately.
A good Saturday-to-Sunday combo for us that are still in the phase of 'couching',or just in general need for cozy-chic dressing.
